Workshop on Global 8D “Problem Solving Technique”

CII-Institute of Quality is pleased tannounce its twdays training on “Global 8D-Problem Solving Technique” on 16-17 November 2018 in Bangalore.

In early 1990's Ford Motor Company introduced a standardized set of steps tbe followed in solving problems by quality improvement teams within the company. These eight step process of problem solving is known as 8D (Eight disciplines) and is by far the common disciplines used and accepted by most industries today & a Powerful Tool.

Objectives :

8D is a problem-solving methodology for product and process improvement. It is structured inteight disciplines, emphasizing (MDT) team synergy. The team as whole is better and smarter than the quality sum of the individuals. Each discipline is supported by a checklist of assessment questions, such as "what is wrong with what", "what, when, where, how much".

On completion of workshop Participants should: 

  • Be able tunderstand concepts of Problems Solving and Improvement
  • Understand Project Selection methodology
  • Understand: Rational Approach of Problem Solving Process (8-D)
  • Understand method of application of Seven QC Tools in 8-D
  • Understand effective application of QC Tools in 8-D
  • Practice application of QC Tools in 8-D
  • Understand : How thandle and manage different situations during actual problem solving

    •    D5: Select Permanent Corrective Actions
    •    Decision Making
    •    Decision Making Exercise - Selecting a Home
    •    D6:  Implement Permanent Corrective Actions
    •    D7:  Prevent System Problems
    •    D8:  Closure and Team Congratulation
  • Exercise-1
    • QC tools – Detailed discussion
    • Application of QC tools in logical flow of problem solving
  • Exercise-2
    •  Individual Exercises and discussion on actual case studies from automotive supply chain.
    • How tmanage in different situations during applying 8D in work place (Case Studies)

Fees include participation, course material (hard copies), lunch and tea / coffee. Advance payment of fees is tbe drawn in favor of “Confederation of Indian Industry”. A discount of 10% will be admissible on three or more nominations from an organization. Participation fees is non-refundable/ non-adjustable against any other programme of CII, but change in nomination(s) is accepted.  

Certification :Certificate of Participation will be given to the participants.
